Hermann DeSouza

A builder of people, programs, and possibility. His story is one of generational healing, personal grit, and a vision big enough to include everyone.

Roots That Run Deep

Hermann DeSouza's story begins in Benin, West Africa—but its roots stretch deeper, grounded in generations of resilience. As a descendant of enslaved people, Hermann carries the weight and wisdom of a legacy built on survival, perseverance, and hope.

The oldest of six children, growing up with limited means, he learned early that your circumstances don't define your destiny—your choices do. On the basketball court, he found discipline, strategy, and how to lead under pressure. Off the court, he became fluent in six West African dialects and French.

I learned that true leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about having the courage to find them, together.

From Benin to America

When Hermann immigrated to the United States, he did not speak a word of English. Most people would see that as an insurmountable barrier. Hermann saw it as the next challenge to overcome.

Within months, he had added English to his toolkit—his seventh language. He was not just learning words; he was learning a new way to connect, to serve, to lead. That adaptability would define his career.

For over 14 years at Apple, Hermann rose from frontline customer support to executive relations and business process reengineering. He designed and implemented systems that now support millions of users worldwide, earning perfect customer satisfaction scores along the way.

Building What Matters

But Hermann's impact reaches far beyond corporate success. As the founder of One-to-Many and co-founder of Cercle Social, he has helped bring digital learning to over 700 students in underserved communities across West Africa.

He led the transformation of shipping containers into mobile computer labs—a grassroots innovation that was showcased at the United Nations as a model for sustainable development in Africa.

This was not charity work. This was proof of concept. Proof that with the right systems, the right vision, and the right heart, you can create change that scales.

At my core, I am a builder—of people, of programs, and of possibility. I am not just managing programs; I am reshaping what is possible when talent meets mission.

When Everything Changed

During a visit to his mother's kitchen in Benin, Hermann watched a neighbor's newborn twins gasp near billowing cooking smoke. In that moment, years of operational excellence, systems thinking, and grassroots empathy crystallized into a single, urgent mission.

No child should breathe poison in their own home.

Now a father of three boys himself, Hermann understands what is at stake. VieVert is not just a company—it is a commitment to the next generation. A promise that the problems we inherit do not have to be the problems we leave behind.

I have seen what is possible when you combine operational excellence with grassroots empathy. VieVert is where those two worlds meet.
